Default Lidl is 'proud to present the new brand Gaelstar' in the Republic of Ireland but not

Did you know that Lidl have introduced their Gaelstar Gaelic sports gear range (hurleys & sliotars) in store in the Republic but not in the North. Lidl have informed me that although they 'appreciate the popularity of this range in Northern Ireland, they have no plans to stock it in the North.' If you believe as I do that that LIDL should sell their Gaelstar range of match sliotars, training sliotars & hurleys etc in every county in Ireland, then please let them know the opinion of every GAA supporter in the Orchard County at

For further information please see page 9 of the Newry Democrat (August 31, 2010). Please keep the pressure on LIDL with emails & phone calls to their Customer Services at 0800 0180 266 to allow us, LIDL shoppers in County Armagh the same opportunity to purchase sliotars, hurleys etc as part of our normal weekly shop as shoppers in Louth to Cork have. Slan.

For those on facebook, if you post any questions on the Lidl Ireland facebook page asking why Lidl will not stock their Gaelstar range in Northern Ireland, it will be removed rather quickly. Go on, try for yourself at

Unfortunately Lidl are trying to silence our calls to have the Gaelstar range available in the North. It seems they have locked me out of their Facebook page & I can no longer post comments. Can anyone else take up the challenge to put the question to Lidl on facebook, why they continue to discriminate against Gaelic games & do not sell their Gaelstar range in Northern Ireland.
