Enjoy the old sports books myself.

Robbie Fowler's and Jamie Carragher's are excellent, Gerrard's is rubbish.

Keane's is class, but I'm sure you've read it.

Going to throw this out there, it's not a sport, but wrestler Bret Hart's is perhaps the best I have red. A bit about wrestling, but mostly about the tragedies that follow it. Unreal book, very sad in places.

Another brilliant read is John Daly's book - the golfer. Again, a boy who has had his demons. I'd recommend his and Hart's to anyone.

Darren Clarke's Ryder Cup one is good, I don't think it's overly long, so handy enough read, although obviously sad.

Tried reading the Damned United, didn't like it at all.

Reading a book Tor: The history of German football. Very good read thus far. It's a bit different but a lot more enjoyable than it sounds.

Also started Invincible and Paul McGrath's in recent weeks.

(I start a lot at the same time)

Sons of Sam is a good GAA one.

Have a few more lying about but can't remember them to be honest.

Paul McGraths was one of the best I read. Tough life he had (made for himself?)

I have read quite a few sports books myself, I have to say most autobiographies that I have read were quite poor. Ashley Cole's, Rio Ferdinand's, David Beckham's were all quite poor in my opinion. I even felt that Mickey Harte's book was dull.

Gordan Strachan's autobiography is a class read, as is Keanes was great as was Robbie Fowlers.

Anyone looking for a Christmas stocking filler should look no further than Phil McGinn's excellent book covering the History of Armagh Harps, 1888 - 2008.

The book is now available at a special offer price of £10 per copy, or two copies for £18. You can get your copy from the Social Club (tel: 02837 523281). Please note that this offer is for a limited period only.

This meticulously researched book not only chronicles the history of the football club throughout the decades but also provides an insight to the history of the GAA within the City and County. If you, or a family member, have ever played against the Harps over the years there's a fair chance the games are mentioned. You could even be name checked!

My dad got this last year. Some read and I even got a mention in it myself! Shows even poor players can get a mention.
