This is something that Harps haven't been involved in for a long time, but we now have a dedicated officer and have competed in a few events recently. First time since the 60's/70's I believe!

Good to hear. I would be a fairweather fan myself, but I know the effort that goes in by some of our memebers, it's a great competition.

I'd say Begbie will be impressed with Benny Tierney's column in the Irish News today!

Very impressed Corn. It was comical. Tierney always makes me laugh. It was quite a happy page. The four columns he wrote about were, regarding Armagh's progress, McCoy winning the national, St. Colman's winning the Hogan and Dromintee's Scor challenge. A great page all round! The nerves are certainly already in place for this coming saturday. As I'm sure you're well aware corn the two fundraisers went well at the weekend and will be a help to the club financially as an All-Ireland final can be very demanding. A man from Carrickcruppen wrote this piece on sunday. I thought it was excellent.

    An Ode To Scór

    What is Scór,
    at times a chore,
    But mostly it's just fun!
    we try our best,
    no time to rest,
    And rarely things are won!

    We moan, we sigh,
    we laugh, we cry,
And swear "this year I am finished!"
Then realise (to no great surprise)
That the next year you're right back in it!!

    The hopes, the fears,
    the laughs, the tears,
    That really get you down,
    Are worth it all,
    as your name is called,
And you go up to lift your crown!

Though hard to win, at least your in,
    That final down in Kerry,
And first or last, you'll have a blast,
And we'll all drink and be merry!

It will be a great occasion. Whether we win, lose or draw. I'm proud of all the team to get this far. The support from the club has been exceptional which doesn't surprise me but it exceeded expectations. We'll give it our best shot and if that's not good enough we can't complain.
