In fairness Don, most clubs have this attitude, its used as motivation. But in the case of the Sarsfields there were issues with the venue of the final in that Culloville had to travel a mere 2 miles and then the bookies were effectively writing them off (very poor bookmaking in my opinion) with ridiculous odds. Everyone knew this would be a much tighter match than those odds suggested so I suppose the question that really needs to be asked is what were those odds based on?
I personally couldn't care less but some people might. Also with the power of hindsight the venue was a blessing in disguise because the big pitch allowed Sarsfields to play their passing and moving game with greater freedom and Culloville had no answer for it.
Anyone seen any betting for the Ulster Intermediate anywhere??
