Default Armagh Hurlers reach Kehoe Shield Final

Well done to our hurlers today who had a fantastic win over Roscommon in the Kehoe Shield Semi. They meet Fingal in the Shield Final next Sunday. Super result considering non availability of Middletown players.

    Roscommon 3-06 Armagh 4-09

Armagh held off a late Roscommon comeback to take the spoils in Athleague.

The visitors enjoyed the better of the opening period and two goals inside the first five minutes from Neil Duffy and Conor Corvan set them up for a 3-6 to 1-5 interval lead.

Roscommon rallied on the resumption, despite Armagh's fourth goal from Tony Duffy, but green flags from substitute Cillian Egan and a 20-metre free from Gerry Fallon weren't enough to halt Armagh's gallop towards victory.

    SCORERS -- Armagh: N Duffy 2-0, C Corvan 1-3 (1-2f), T Duffy 1-1, P McCormack 0-2f, C Devlin, C Reid, F Bradley 0-1 each. Roscommon: Gerry Fallon 2-1 (2-0f), C Egan 1-0, Gary Fallon 0-3 (1f, 1 '65'), E Kenny, J Lawlor 0-1 each.

    ARMAGH - S Doherty; N Garvey, C Clifford, A Carville; C Devlin, R McGrattan, N Greene; M Lennon, P McCormack; C Reid, P Heaney, N Duffy; F Bradley, T Duffy, C Corvan.

    ROSCOMMON -- D Dowd; D Dowling, B Donnelly, D Fallon; S Melia, N Keenan, D Flaherty; T Seale, E Mulry; E Kenny, K Conneely, Gary Fallon; S Curley, Gerry Fallon, J. Lawlor. Subs: C Egan for Keenan (33), N Keenan for D Fallon (48).

    REF -- C Groome (Offaly).

A good win for Armagh -without Deccie and CoCo as well - having got half way to Athleague the previous Sunday before getting word of the match being called off.
