    Default Fundraiser with a twist

On Saturday 12th June Derrynoose GAC and invited clubs will attempt to break the world record for the 12 hour 100m relay. How many people can say they are world record holders?

The current world record is held by Cavan GAA set on 20th June 2009. 1,986 people ran that day and we are going to try and break it. We will need over 2,000 people to come and help break this record.

This is a unique fundraiser in many ways as not only will Derrynoose GAC be raising monies but also every club in Armagh and beyond can raise money for the event.

Ask yourself - would I like to be world record holder. Probably yes is the answer. So clubs can make money by using our sponsor forms to raise money - all we want is the entry fee paid to us - the rest of the money the participating club keeps. Also £5 of the entry fee from every GAA participant will be going to the county board as a fundraiser for them. At the moment all the development and senior squads - hurling and football - are coming. Everyone will benefit from the World record attempt.

More news will follow over the coming weeks about the event and I'm sure the Derrynoose members will keep us updated as well.

The fundraiser was featured briefly on UTV evening news today with Mickey Harte, from Action MS, speaking about it. New pictures uploaded to the Facebook page.
