Default Armagh Minors win Belfast Telegraph Sports Award

When I first heard the Minors were short-listed for the award I was quite confident they were going to win. The team were nominated for the award by a well known fan of Armagh GAA and fair play to the fan for taking the time to write his nomination reasons and submitting it but its a pity the actual county board didn't have the sense to do it themselves.

Anyhow, feck the negatives of the county board, this award was all about the players and management. A really nice touch to win this award after an incredible year for the Minors. Going undefeated the entire year in league and Championship is great but to do it at Minor level where football can be very unpredictable was brilliant! The Noughties seen us left All-Ireland titles at Minor, Un21 and Senior level and hopefully the next decade can bring us the same success.......

The Armagh Minors won best Junior team in the 2009 Belfast Telegraph sports awards last night.Kieran Robinson, Paul McShane, Steven Beacom, Rory Grugan and Declan McKenna proudly show off their award.
